CES 2012 // Keeping up via Content Curators.

Well, its a new year, and that means that the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show is upon us! For any of you who like tech, or just want to see whats coming soon to your home, this is where all the big tech manufacturing companies make their announcements, and showcase their latest technologies. There is A LOT to take in (and the general public is not allowed at the event). I always find good Content Curators to help me sort through the noise.

This is true of any large event, the best ways to follow them online is by finding good curators of the information.

Good content curators are:

  1. Proven Trustworthy
  2. Knowledgable
  3. Aware they ARE curating for an audience
  4. Familiar with the individuals/companies/government involved

The Verge

This is a relatively new site, but created by many previous employers of several popular tech sites. Here’s their own description:

The Verge is a technology-focused news publication founded in 2011 by Joshua Topolsky and Marty Moe in partnership with Vox Media and its CEO Jim Bankoff. The Verge’s mission is to offer breaking news coverage and in-depth reporting, product information, and community content via a unified, modern platform.

I recommend this site to anyone who is interested in consumer electronics/tech

TWiT Live/Leo Laporte

I had the privilege of visiting the TWiT studio over this holiday, they were prepping for CES even then. TWiT comes live from CES every year. If you want the ‘On The Floor’ experience, watch their live streams and podcasts this week, alway informative, entertaining and interesting to watch.

Robert Scoble (The Scobeilizer)

You can find Robert Scoble EVERYWHERE. Twitter, Google+, his website. The Scobileizer will be roaming the CES floor and talking to as many people as possible. He is great at sharing useful and interesting information, but not being TOO overwhelming.

Thats my list of curators, there are many others. Who are some of your favorite content curators?
